When looking for photographers, I highly recommend choosing someone local to your vacation destination. You’ll want a photographer who knows the area, has experience shooting in the elements, and knows when to capture the perfect light. After hundreds of sessions, I feel very much “in my element” when taking photos of families on our iconic beaches. 

Another important thing to consider is your photographer’s experience with editing. You may be wondering why this is important. However, if your vacation destination is a popular one, then it’s unlikely you’ll be the only ones on the beach. Sometimes photographers will need to expertly remove unwanted people from the background of your beautiful images. 

In a recent vacation session with the Bryant family, we shot on a busy day at the beach. Even in the fall and winter, areas of Amelia Island beaches can still be bustling. Yet, the Bryants and I had no problem taking beautiful photos! After our session, I simply removed any unwanted photobombers with a little photo magic.
