2021 was a big year for Brittany Powell Photography. I am excited to share the highlights of 2021. It was packed full of family and newborn sessions, engagements, and wedding photos. I also opened my very own studio, which allowed me to have more opportunities for sessions. I am going to share just a few of my favorite sessions of this year because if I shared them all, we’d be here forever!

One of my favorite moments to capture is proposals, so of course, it needs to be mentioned in the highlights of 2021. There is something so special about that moment of surprise. This year I had the opportunity to capture three proposals and they were all perfect in their own way. Seeing the look on each girl’s face when they see their man on one knee and of course, the ring is priceless! Having this special moment to look back on for years to come is something you definitely want in your camera roll.

My studio opening brought on opportunities for more newborn sessions. Newborn sessions have become one of my favorite things to capture as well. Although you may think that they would be an easy subject to capture, newborn sessions can take hours, but they are every bit worth it. Moms and dads come in just a couple of weeks after their new little one is born, and although you may be exhausted, you want to capture your baby as tiny as they are in the first few weeks.

Something new that I tried this year that I have to add to my year-end review is my in-studio maternity sessions. I tried different techniques that were new to me and I absolutely loved it. I’m excited to share a few of my favorite shots with you on the blog. I don’t think I would be where I am today without the families that book me for their family sessions. Whether you are local to Nassau County, or you want to capture memories while you are vacationing on Amelia Island, this wouldn’t be a highlight of 2021 without mentioning you!

And last, but certainly not least, this wouldn’t be the highlights of 2021, without mentioning some of my favorite shots from weddings this year. Wedding days can be long and exhausting, but they are every bit worth it when you get to capture a couple’s beautiful day.
