Recently, I had the honor of photographing another very special couple whose wedding day was affected by COVID-19. As I wrote in last week’s blog post, I have been blown away by how positive and gracious my engaged couples have been in the midst of such difficulty. Alec and Kristen were certainly no exception – their joy was effortless to capture on camera!
Meet Alec + Kristen…
When this pandemic began, Alec and Kristen made the decision to cancel their original wedding date and settle for a sweet courthouse wedding. The two of them were officially married on May 11th in Virginia, where the two of them live. The Coronavirus couldn’t hold them back from becoming husband and wife! Alec and Kristen inspired me by the way they chose to focus on the joy of becoming Mr. and Mrs. instead of the disappointment of canceling a wedding. They kept an amazing perspective that was truly centered around their love for each other.
The two celebrated their new marriage by honeymooning in our beautiful Amelia Island. They reached out to me for a simple session to document this special time of their lives. Though the start of their marriage looked different than expected, it was certainly no less special or joyful! The couple was so clearly in love and so beautiful for me to capture.
Alec looked so dapper in his suit and Kristen looked absolutely stunning in her more casual take on a bridal gown! Kristen also had her makeup flawlessly done by Kristie Archetti of Royal Beauty. Kristen had the perfect bridal look for this intimate celebration of their love!
I love being a photographer because of people like Alec and Kristen. It’s an honor for me to be able to hear people’s stories and document special moments of their lives.
