An In-Studio Maternity Session
I shot my first in-studio maternity session last week, and to say I’m obsessed would be an understatement! My Amelia Island studio turned out to be the perfect location for capturing precious “baby bump” photos. This first session with soon-to-be parents, Chris and Connor, was certainly one for the books!
The Ewing Family Maternity Session
Chris and Connor live in Jacksonville, Florida, and have been together for nearly 5 years. The two are thrilled to welcome their first child, August Tate Ewing, to the world this September. The excitement between this little family was beautiful, making it truly effortless for me to capture them with my camera!
You may recognize Chris from a previous blog post we shared, highlighting her website and brand design business, Ivory & Green. I have been a long time client of hers, and we always have a blast creating things together! Therefore, it’s no surprise that we had tons of fun creating her unique maternity session.
I was excited to find that my studio offered endless benefits for maternity photos. Of course, beachside maternity shoots will always have a special place in my heart. I know countless pregnant mamas love the photos by the ocean. However, for soon-to-be parents looking for a different experience, the studio offers a setting that is unique, comfortable, and private!
One huge benefit of having a studio maternity session is the comfortable environment the studio can offer, especially for pregnant mamas. For women who are 8 months pregnant in the heat of summer, my temperature controlled studio may be more appealing than the hot Florida sand. Our studio also features bathrooms for outfit changes and the ever frequent pregnancy potty breaks.
Lastly, soon to be parents may feel more comfortable posing in a private environment. Mamas looking to pose “belly out” or even partially nude, may love the more intimate environment of my studio. Chris and Connor said they loved how the space made them feel relaxed in front of the camera. Chris was more than willing to capture adventurous shots, and every one of them turned out adorable! The studio provided the perfect space for us to get minimal and modern photos that kept Chris, Connor, and incoming baby August as the focal point of it all.
