The Thornton Wedding
I was so honored to capture the Thornton’s big day in January of this year. If you have ever met Tanner and Allison, then you know just how special of a couple they are. They are so kind, fun, and clearly in love – making their wedding an absolute dream to photograph!
Tanner is originally from Tennessee and he moved down to Florida to become a Worship Leader at a local church, where he met Allison. Allison is a Florida native and she works as a pediatric emergency room nurse. Allison was one of Tanner’s first friends when he moved to Fernandina Beach and their friendship grew into a beautiful relationship. When Tanner finally popped the question and their wedding planning began, I was honored that the couple asked me to be a part of their best day ever. Their wedding was truly unforgettable. Every detail was absolutely beautiful and the couple’s love for each other was so evident! Here’s a little recap of my favorite moments from their wedding :
The bride and her girls got ready in the most stunning bridal suite and clearly had so much fun together. The girls’ makeup was done by Kirstie Archetti and their hair was done by B’Loree Beauty – both such talented, local vendors. The bridesmaids looked breathtaking in their emerald gowns and they so obviously loved and supported the bride!
Allison was pure bridal perfection. She looked like a real Disney princess! She was glowing and her joy was contagious. Her a-line wedding gown from David’s Bridal looked like it was made for her. It was really impossible to get a bad picture of this bride!
I loved capturing each reaction to Allison’s bridal beauty. She had emotional, exciting first looks with her bridesmaids, her mom, her dad, and, finally, her groom! Many happy tears were shed by everyone – including me!
During the couple’s first look on the gorgeous Florida marsh, there was not a dry eye around. You could see the whirlwind of emotions flowing through the couple as they took in the sight of each other. Just when we thought it couldn’t get any sweeter, Tanner sang a beautiful song that he wrote for Allison. How romantic is that?! Their first look was one I’ll never forget and I know this couple won’t either.
The couple then said their “I Do”s in front of over 200 witnesses at Walker’s Landing under a canopy of oak trees. The ceremony was so genuine and Christ-centered, the perfect start to the couple’s new life together. The two exchanged rings in front of a wooden cross, draped with sheer fabric and decorated with greenery. The slanted oak branch above the cross was covered in greenery and pink roses, making this scene look like something out of a fairytale. Beth from My Girls Florals knocked it out of the park!
Allison and Tanner were pronounced husband and wife and they couldn’t have looked happier! I loved capturing their joy immediately after the ceremony. Smiles like that can’t be manufactured, they only come from truly special moments in a person’s life. Their smiles had me smiling behind the camera all night long!
Their reception was a beautiful celebration of love! From the couple’s romantic first dance to their “breaking it down” with friends, everything was so much fun to photograph. DJ Nick Cater did a fantastic job hosting the party and the bride’s family provided the perfect menu of finger foods. The night flew by and, before we knew it, the bride and groom were having a sweet, private last dance before we sent them off with a sparkler exit!
The Thornton’s wedding was a magical day celebrating a truly wonderful couple. I am so grateful they trusted me to photograph such an important moment of their lives. I could not be happier for these newly weds and I wish them the absolute best as they start their new adventure of marriage!
